Looks like we have more interesting statements in store for you, Nintendo fans. Aside from talking about Nintendo Switch games in 2024, Nintendo has discussed a number of topics at its 84th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders. The meeting took place recently, as expected, and this was one of the topics discussed.
At the meeting they already discussed their relationship with NVIDIA. But they also left words that reach us today, this time about the protection of their characters. At the meeting, the president Shuntaro Furukawa addressed concerns about inappropriate use of Nintendo’s intellectual property on social media and its potential impact on the brand.
Although he did not comment on specific cases, he stressed the importance of taking appropriate measures against behavior that undermines the policy of “provoking smiles through entertainment.” Furukawa said that Nintendo strives to maintain an environment where consumers feel comfortable interacting with their products and intellectual property, both in games and in other contexts.
“Our company aims to fulfill our management policy of ‘bringing smiles through entertainment’ by proposing unique games that everyone can enjoy intuitively,” he says. “I will refrain from commenting on the game. individual casesbut we believe that appropriate action should be taken against any behavior that undermines this policy.”
“Our objective is create an environment “where everyone can enjoy playing,” the president added. “We will continue to strive to ensure that our consumers do not feel uncomfortable, not only in our games, but also anywhere they come into contact with our intellectual property.”
Nintendo has taken Actions against fan projects considered inappropriate, and it seems that it will continue to do so. What do you think of the news? You can share it in the comments. We read them carefully!
