Last week, we noticed a worrying note on the selected Nintendo Game pages that suggested not to all Switch 2 titles to support Nintendo Switch Online Cloud Save. A few days further, and the message was removed, replaced with a little more clarification about the ability to store the upcoming console.
Both tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and Donkey Kong Bananza Games Pages have previously disputed “This software does not support Nintendo Switch Switch online paid membership in CLOUD Safety Copy” but the same section on Nintendo website is now empty. The DK site is now not mentioned in the cloud storing, while the Totk page has been expanded to explain what the slot of a new edition is used for.
According to this new renunciation of responsibility, “Save the information created in the second slot for saving data in the legend of Zeldi: tears of the kingdom – edition of Nintendo Switch 2 cannot be transferred to the legend of Zeldi: the tears of the Kingdom to Nintendo Switch.”
So, you will be able to upload your old Switch 1 Totk Save file to the Switch 2 edition, but you will not be able to send it back after you are done. We would say that the formulation also implies that cloud -storing transfers will be possible between the Switch 2 units – it makes more sense than completely removal of the feature – but in the coming days another renunciation of responsibility can be added.
The breath of a wild – Switch 2 Edition page now contains the same message, so expect an identical approach to rescue the transfer there.
For those who wonder, the message 'No Cloud Save' did not return to other games for the games that were reportedly at first contained (such as the Super Mario Party Jamboreree + Jamborea TV). It seems that it must have been a big misunderstanding on Nintendo's side, but we will be careful about more updates in the coming weeks, just in case …

However, where things become really confusing, as it seems that these renunciations are only present on the lists of European and North American games. Eurogamer noted that such a message does not appear on the Japanese website for any of the games, even more stamping the water. Again, Hmmmmm.

Removal of an option NSO Cloud Save from new The Switch 2 Games is a confusing move, but taking from Lika Totk – which, let's not forget, supported him in his Switch 1 form – makes even less sense. We know that you will be able to move your original Botw and Totk files in the SWITCH 2 editions, but if the renunciation of responsibility, you will not be able to make a new Cloud saves in the other once there.
