Update #2: Nintendo’s Japanese customer support on Twitter has shared a message about the suspension of the latest Switch system update.

Users who have updated to the latest firmware may experience network connection issues and microSDXC cards may encounter issues if they’re being used for the first time.

It’s working on a solution and will share an update when the issue has been resolved.

We have also confirmed that even if you try to use the microSDXC card for the first time with the 12.0.3 updated main unit, the main unit update is not completed and the microSDXC card cannot be used. Please wait for the follow-up report on this as well.

Nintendo of America’s support page has also shared a message noting how it will update the “system updates and change history” section as soon as the distribution is resumed.

“As of June 8th, we have temporarily stopped distributing system update version 12.0.3 (released June 7th, 2021 at 5:00 PM PDT). This message will be updated when distribution is resumed.”

Update #1: In what appears to be a first, Nintendo has stopped distribution of the Switch’s Version 12.0.3 system update just hours after it first became available.

No reason for the sudden halt has been announced by Nintendo at this stage, although some fans are speculating that the update may have caused unintended errors for those who had downloaded it. If you haven’t yet updated your console to Version 12.0.3, you no longer have the option to do so (at the time of writing, at least).

We’ll make sure to update you here if we hear more.

Original Article (Tue 8th Jun, 2021 01:30 BST): Just over a week out from its E3 Direct, Nintendo has released a new firmware update for the Switch.

While we were hoping for some surprises, it seems it’s the same update as last month – stability. It’s taking us back to the glorious days of the 3DS when this was the main focus.

Here are the full patch notes for update 12.0.3, courtesy of Nintendo’s official support page:
