Nintendo confirmed this afternoon that it has changed the way Tricolor Battles will work in the upcoming Splatoon 3 Splatfest starting on January 7th. When the Splatfest starts, you can choose to join the Tricolor Battle after the halftime report, and they’ve also changed it so you won’t know if you’re on the attacking or defending team until the battle starts. They suggest that players unfamiliar with how the Tricolor battle works can now check the rules on the Splatfest Pledge Box or through the lobby menu before jumping in. Nintendo also introduced a new metric known as Tricolor Clout to determine who wins at Splatfest. that the team leading at halftime will receive more Tricolor Clout in defense, and those in other teams more in offense.
