Monolith Soft's official website has confirmed that Nintendo now owns 100% of the acclaimed RPG developer. Monolith Soft was originally created as an investment from Bandai Namco to work on the Xenogears video game franchise. Nintendo then decided to buy 80% of Monolith Soft from Bandai Namco and subsequently increased its stake to 96% back in 2011. Monolith Soft's founders have since retained their 4% stake in the company, but that has since changed and now Nintendo owns the entire company .
