A new and interesting message has recently been shared that is directly related to Nintendo. We are talking in this case of news focused on the company.
Specifically, the statements have been shared by the president of Nintendo himself, Shuntaro Furukawa. In a recent meeting with Nikkei, he has reiterated that at the moment they do not plan to raise the price of their products.
This is what he has replied:
Q: Is increasing the price an option for you?
R: We are not considering that at the moment, for two reasons. In order to offer unique entertainment to a wide range of customers, we want to avoid overpricing individuals. Our competition is the variety of entertainment around the world, and we always think of prices in terms of the value of the entertainment we offer.
Our products also include software. Nintendo has sold over 100 million Switch units to date, and it’s important to keep the momentum going for our business overall. Generally speaking, a weak yen makes Switch sales less profitable.
