Bastion Trunks is currently suffering some deep and dark grief due to their best boy being removed from Overwatch 2. The character, a lovable droid who can use their ultimate ability to transform into a rocket-throwing killing machine, has put Fort Power on a frustratingly fringe thanks to an easy-to-operate and super-powerful bug.
“Does it really take more than 5 days to fix an ultimate?” wrote r/BastionMains user HyperBastiorean, slamming Blizzard for taking so long to fix their favorite champion. Five days isn’t even that long, but that’s the connection between some fort buds on the internet, whose epic heroin downfall in Trainspotting hit others like Sickboy.
Some people bravely believe they can live without a fort, even though their lives have led them to become commenters on the fort subreddit. Dodo501 wrote: “I’ve uninstalled and I refuse to play crap without Bastion. Won’t reinstall even/when he’s added back.” Indeed, though Overwatch 2 players have to go through all the real Difficulties such as the lousy battle pass and phone verification system, but deleting your beloved protagonist must suck.
Others turned to journaling to express their desperation, such as Enforcer_XD: “Day 5…or day 4, I don’t even remember…the people who didn’t beep…my sanity was ruined…I Can’t sleep I can’t eat…my brain is trying to keep me alive but my body has now given up…my favorite piece of metal has been killed…”
See, aside from all the sarcasm and banter, there’s little to no word on when the fort will be back, and you’ve got to get a feel for those who just want to destroy their turrets and ham in a quick match. Sure, you can use the opportunity to learn some new roles, but honestly, it sounds like work, who has the time?
