In the midst of Nintendo's decision to delay the opening of its pre -registrations by Nintendo Switch 2 in the United States after the turnaround and uncertainty of the newly found tariffs, the company recorded a 10% drop in stocks on the Tokyo list, Bloomberg reports.
Nintendo made an invitation to open pre-ordination in the United States last week after the latest tariffs of Donald Trump, so, everything that is not an American, seems to be. The markets around the world are similarly affected because companies and governments consider the best course of action in response.
Trump's tariffs include a 10% blanket on “all imports and larger targets on electronics than key trade partners”, which resulted in 24% tariff on Japanese goods.
Nintendo's official statement for journalists last week said:
“Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 in the US will not start on April 9, 2025 to evaluate the potential influence of tariffs and developing market conditions. Nintendo will update the time later. The launch date of June 2025 was unchanged.“
Of course, the effects that beat up are too obvious, and the markets, as expected, responded immediately. This is still bad news for gigantic gigantic – if they should really enjoy the discovery of the Switch 2 – because the company also influenced 46% of Tariff that Trump imposed on Vietnam.
As the investment was reportedNintendo has already transferred some production to Vietnam to compensate for existing tariffs to Chinese goods, only to find themselves in a bad position now.
The Prices of the Switch 2 are already a disputed point among fans, so many players in the US are understandably worried as they look at the next Nintendo move with the approaching date of the launch of the 5th of June.
