The first 2025 firmware update. For the Switch 1 it has just been published and is quite significant. On the eve of starting the Switch 2 5. June, Nintendo added new features to Home Menu for virtual games and Gameshare, and also added the possibility of transferring the console data to Nintendo Switch 2 Systems.
One smaller change that is also made is the appearance of the Donkey Kong user icon, which now reflects its appearance in the upcoming Banzani Donkey Kong.

- The following icons for new features have been added to in Home menu::
- Virtual toy card
- Purchased Nintendo Switch Digital Software, DLC and some free software, now virtual cards are shown on the list in this menu.
- You can practically load and throw out virtual games with games between up to two Nintendo Switch systems.
- Virtual games can be borrowed to others in the same group Nintendo Account. For more information, look for Virtual game guide.
- Gameshare
- Compatible software can be divided from Nintendo Switch 2 into other nearby systems (a) to play together.
- You can only play together through a local wireless network, and the Nintendo Switch 2 system has to start Gameshare.
- This feature cannot be used between two Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch – OLED Model and/or Nintendo Switch Lite Systems.
- User verification settings was added under User> user settings.
- You can limit access to Virtual toy card The menu requires your PIN entry or log in to your Nintendo account.
- Internet licensing settings has been added.
- When it turns on, you can reproduce the downloaded software or DLC you bought while the system is connected to the Internet, even if you do not have a loaded virtual game.

- AND Nintendo Eshop and News Nintendo Switch The colors of the icon on the Home menu have been changed.
- More preparation information can be selected and transferred at once in the “Transfer of Your Save Data” menu.
- System Transfer to Nintendo Switch 2 was added under System Settings> System.
- You can perform the transfer system from Nintendo Switch to Nintendo Switch 2 using local communication.
- For users who will lose access to their Nintendo Switch before receiving their Nicendo Switch 2, there is an option to transfer the system transfer data to a dedicated server, which can then be downloaded to their Nintendo Switch 2. Keep in mind that the use of “primary console” is an outdated transition to virtual game games, and instead will use a “console with a passage enabled”.
