The renowned developer PlatinumGames recently revealed its new action title titled Project G.G., with an attractive presentation trailer.
In a recent interview with IGN, the game director, Hideki KamiyaHe talked about this new installment, stating that it will be more than the typical action game. These were his words about it:
We have categorized it as part of the trilogy of heroes of Hideki Kamiya. The first two games were Viewtiful Joe, which has the story of a single hero, and The Wonderful 101, a story about a group of heroes. In Japan, the next type of hero would be the giant hero, and I've always wanted to make a game based on that idea.
But while Viewtiful Joe and The Wonderful 101 were purely action games, this won't be the case. Of course, any game you make will include carefully designed action elements, but this will not simply be an action game. There will be much more than that.
It will not be a type of niche game; Giant hero s tories are popular in Japan, with things like Ultraman, and the game will have that kind of flavor, but I don't want to limit myself to the genre of Japanese heroes. Therefore, the environment is probably not Japan, as that could be restrictive. But I haven't decided yet.
About the platforms that are aimed at, Kamiya said the following:
Basically, we would like to launch it on PS4, Xbox One, Switch and Steam; Of course, PS5 and Series X will arrive soon. We do not know exactly when this will come out, but we would like to launch it on any of the main platforms at that time.
Finally, these were his words about a possible release date:
Put this way, we don't think it takes more than three years. Nor will it be as soon as half a year or a year. But being our first published and own game published by ourselves, we want to launch it as soon as possible.
