Pokemon Scarlet and Purple It has a very different structure to the first games. The 3D open world mechanics make searching for Pokémon a whole new task in many ways.
This installment brought the ninth generation with interesting new concepts, including Teracrystallization, the Paradox Pokémon, and even the Paldea region that you can roam on Miraidon and Koraidon.
But only players on a higher spiritual plane can find Shiny Pokémon out of mortal sight.
Pokemon Scarlet and Purple: A player breaks the fourth wall for a Shiny matchup
A 10 second video on Reddit by a named player Viviana left the community speechless Pokemon Scarlet and Purple.
While the player was traversing the base of a mountain with her Koraidon, a curious bug arose that caused part of the mountain to disappear. She basically could see right through it, revealing the Pokémon that were not only behind the mountain, but inside it as well.
From here several unusual things happened for any player of Pokemon Scarlet and Purple. The visual bug still allowed the player to interact with what was on the other side, as long as it was positioned in the correct place. That’s how it approached a group of Pokémon from outside the mountain, revealing a level 36 Tinkatuff (although she couldn’t physically see him, just his ID).
Imagine her surprise when she interacted with this Tinkatuff and found out that it’s its rare Shiny variant, something you might have been able to see through the bug.
“Don’t forget to check inside the walls”, was the funny comment of the player in the video, mocking that this is possible in Pokemon Scarlet and Purple.

A funny bug… or not?
Although at first it seems that this unusual situation has favored the player, the truth is that it highlights some of the biggest problems of Pokemon Scarlet and Purple: the bugs and the Shiny encounters.
Players have been speaking out in the comments to express their thoughts on the matter, and many of them were upset. “I hate this so much,” wrote one, probably referring to the fact that this bug exists.
The problem is not that you can see through a mountain, but the fact that the Pokémon appear inside structures that the player cannot access. And why is this a problem? Well, because it affects the chances of Shiny encounter of the players.
If you are making an effort to search for a specific species, it is possible that it appears within a structure. This will reset your Shiny odds, even if you don’t realize it happened. It’s similar to inadvertently brushing past a Shiny Pokémon, only in this case it’s not the player’s fault.
“I guess I’ve missed Shiny Pokemon like this,” one trainer commented. Another player added that another thing Pokémon Legends: Arceus did well was introduce a sound for when a Shiny Pokémon appears nearby.
This way the player would know when to check the area carefully, although it would hardly help if the Pokémon is inside a structure. What is certain is that the player is sorry that this function has not been added to Pokemon Scarlet and Purple.
