Tales of series producer Yusuke Tomizawa revealed Famitsu that the company ran into problems when they initially tried to re-release the beloved Tales of games in release order and that it remained a “frustrating memory” for the team. Mr. Tomizawa would not go into detail about why releasing the games in chronological order proved so problematic. However, he said that changing their priority to releasing games that have the highest release potential helped move the concept forward. Looking ahead, Tomizawa says the team is currently “making milestones towards the new title” and working hard to deliver “good announcements”.

“I think it would be more pleasant to release (the remasters) in the original order of the series, but there was a period when, due to various circumstances, attempts to stick too much to chronological order, we couldn’t release anything, and that’s a frustrating memory for us. In the long run, I think releasing as many titles as possible is what will keep everyone happy,”

“Fan requests are the best indicator of which titles to remaster. The announcement of Tales of Graces F was the result of our overall assessment (of fan feedback).”
