No matter how many Game Boy games you have knocking at home, we bet you don't have one like this.
After receiving Game Boy Color as a gift, Singapore-based developer JinGen Lim decided to use the system in an unexpected way. You see, in addition to the new Color processing speed and its color screen, the predecessor of Game Boy has also introduced a headphone jack (that dark rectangle above), and JinGen Lim thought this would make for an unusual air controller.
After a little research, they stumbled across the Mission Impible Game which can record and reuse other illegal signals. This proved that the aircon superstition could work, and they began to integrate everything else needed to build it, including the bootleg game box and the program card.
From there, things get more complicated. Infrared reminders use a series of light rods to activate the device pointed to, and the patterns used may vary between devices. Because of this, JinGen Lim had to sell the phone to the original IR emitter and shell which enabled the computer to capture the transmitted signals, all with a bid to understand how to continue incorporating such a feature within the game's game cart.
