Random: Requests For Zelda Ports Increase Following BOTW 2 Switch Delay

Yesterday, was a pretty rough one for Switch owners, with Nintendo announcing the delay of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2. On a more positive note, it at least gives Nintendo more time to make this anticipated release even better.

The only problem we have now is that the Switch could be without a Zelda game for 2022. So what can Nintendo do about this? As usual, social media has chimed in, and there are calls for the company to port Wind Waker

and Twilight Princess to the hybrid platform.

Might as well port The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD in the meantime right?— Jack-Stanley (@Spideyroxas) March 29, 2022

Unsurprising but glad the BotW team is taking the time it needs!

And hey, Nintendo, if you still want to release a Zelda game this year, now’s a great time to port Wind Waker to Switch… https://t.co/BkNfWKdACn

I’m willing to wait. Plus that’s more room for Wind Waker and Twilight Princess on Switch *hint hint nudge nudge* https://t.co/XsQM9HhxjU— Derrick Bitner (@Bitnerd_) March 29, 2022

Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 being delayed to Spring 2023 does mean one thing. Wind Waker and Twilight Princess could both potentially come to Nintendo Switch this year. pic.twitter.com/oomIB0HOyr— Hyrulesky (@Hyrulesky) March 29, 2022

Hey, now that there’s no new Zelda game slated for this year, that means the possibility for Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD Switch ports is even higher for this year! pic.twitter.com/rCM4ksW4FX— Analyst Adam (@Adams_Analysis) March 29, 2022

I went to BAT with saying this game wouldn’t get pushed to 2023 😂 but y’all know how bad my predictions are.

I really hope this means we’re getting Wind Waker HD on Switch this year. Let me fall back into the ocean again <3 https://t.co/2YEDq9wQfZ– Zion Grassl (@ZionDood) March 29, 2022

I’d not be shocked to see Switch ports of the Wii U Zelda remasters announced this year, honestly. I have to imagine they’ve been sitting on those for a while.

This is just speculation, to be clear.

As you might recall, there was a rumour doing the rounds early last year that Nintendo would port both Wind Waker and Twilight Princess to the Switch. And after yesterday’s news, 2022 would now be a great opportunity to do this.

What do you think though? Should Nintendo fill the Zelda gap in 2022 with Wind Waker and Twilight Princess? Tell us below.
