Update #1 [Fri 28th Apr, 2023 15:00 BST]: With just over a week left until the Zelda-themed Splatoon 3 Splatfest, Nintendo announced today that team voting is now open.
Splatsville’s Central Square is once again home to the Event Promise, where you can go pick your team — but pick carefully, because that can’t be changed.
Choosing your team will also earn you your own in-game Zelda-themed shirt, which you can wear in matches leading up to the event to start leveling up and unlocking new abilities. As was the case with November’s Pokémon-themed Splatfest, these shirts can be purchased in the real world via I Nintendo Storeso you can continue to represent your team long after the splatting is over.
Nintendo also revealed a special QR code for the event that unlocks free in-game food when scanned in the Nintendo Switch Online app. Consuming items will temporarily double the cash you and your team get during online matches, so it’s worth getting if you want to grab some new items ahead of Splatfest.
The event itself starts next weekend, from 5.-7. May. Be sure to check out our original post below for all the details.
Original article [Fri 14th Apr, 2023 15:30 BST]: The next Splatfest for Splatoon 3 has been revealed, and it’s a collaboration doozy between inklings, octolings, and The Legend of Zelda series. The Zelda-themed splatfest begins May 5 at 5:00 PM PT and ends in May 7 at 5:00 PM PT.
To celebrate the launch of the highly anticipated Tears of the Kingdom next month, you need to answer that most important question — What are you looking for? Power, wisdom or courage? That’s right, it’s Triforce parts, which fits the heck out of it. Not only that, but during the Tricolor Turf War matches will be held in a unique triforce version of Scorch Gorge just for this Splatfest.
And, as with all Splatfest announcements, we’ve got some pretty fresh art to commemorate the occasion.
So you can take this poll as meaning which you want or who you side with — Ganondorf, Zelda or Link? Or which of the golden goddesses do you like best — Din, Nayru and Farore? Or maybe you’ll just root for your favorite Deep Cut member again.
Mark the date on your calendars for the next Splatfest, then! The previous Splatfest was all about mysterious creatures, and Team Nessie took the crown. But who will you side with? Vote in our poll below and let us know in the comments!
