There was a bit of a lull over the weekend as the Switch 2 leaked and the rumors died down for a while. However, it's a new work week, so things are starting to pick up speed again. However, the latest Switch 2 rumor might be the biggest yet. It looks like we might finally have an official launch date for the console.
A few moments ago, multiple insiders came forward saying that they heard that the Switch 2 will be unveiled in a few days, on January 16th. NateTheHate shared additional information about what will be in the post, though he says he considers it “incomplete” because “it just doesn't make sense to me.” The reveal will focus on the console itself, with no games present. He says there could be a game running on the screen “depending on how the trailer is put together,” but “the software won't be the focus.” Fortunately, NateTheHate also says that Nintendo will have a software presentation “towards the end of February, maybe early March.”
Not long after NateTheHate revealed his information, Verge senior editor Tom Warren took to social media to say that “I heard it should be revealed for Switch 2 this week.” Obviously this isn't official information from Nintendo, so it's another rumor. But for those of you who are tired of leaks and rumors, there will apparently be a light at the end of the tunnel soon.
