Nintendo rumors have been all over the place for the past few days, and not just about Nintendo’s next console. However, for a console to be successful, it obviously needs games. Still, part of the reason Nintendo was able to release so many first-party games was because the company worked with multiple studios to do so. A new rumor surfaced today that suggests Nintendo is looking for even more studios to work with.
You see, GamesIndustry head Christopher Dring said in an article published today: “I also know that Nintendo is actively meeting with indie developers to find new partners. Some of that has to do with publishing indie games, which Nintendo does from time to time, but it’s also looking for studios to work on some of its IPs. Nintendo regularly collaborates with third-party teams, including Bandai Namco, Team Ninja, Platinum Games, MercurySteam, WayForward, and Grezzo. But the company wants to join that list, and I know of three studios that are deep in conversation about making games based on Nintendo brands.”
