The Shinobi game series is getting a live-action movie from SEGA and Universal Pictures, with Sam Hargrave (Extraction) directing and Ken Kobayashi (Sunny, Hit Monkey) writing the script.
The film will be produced by Marc Platt and Adam Siegel of Marc Platt Productions, Dmitri M. Johnson of Story Kitchen and Toru Nakahara of SEGA. Mike Goldberg will executive produce, while Timothy I. Stevenson will co-produce.
Almost a decade ago, SEGA commented on looking to adapt their older IPs to TV and film, and now it seems we’re seeing them follow through on their statements.
Not much else is known about the film at the moment, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated.
It’s worth noting that a new Shinobi game – a reboot – is also in the works, and we’ll be hearing more about it soon.
