As we all know, Star Wars has become one of the most important sagas of the entertainment industry. Therefore, when a new series for Disney+ set in this universe, it had a great reception from fans.
It is about Skeleton Crew, and presents us with a story of four children lost in the galaxy as they search for their home planet. The most exciting thing is that the series is already generating great expectations, not only for its connection to the Star Wars universe, but also for itss classic adventure influences.

In a recent interview, Jon Wattsco-director of the series, confessed that Los Goonies is one of the main sources of inspiration behind Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, but it is not the only one. He also mentioned the classic pirate stories from The Sea Hawk and Captain Blood.
As if that were not enough, he also made a reference to his love for Monkey Island games where pirates play a fundamental role.
There is a fun thematic parallel between our children and the pirate crew. In many ways, pirates are grown children who don't want to follow the rules and just want to go their own way, arguing over who will be the captain.
It was great to rewatch the old pirate shows as an influence, swashbuckling epics like The Sea Hawk [1940] y Captain Blood [1935]. Also, my other big Lucasfilm love is the Monkey Island games. I loved all the pirate stuff in them and felt like we could bring a little bit of that to Skeleton Crew.
These influences promise to make Skeleton Crew a fresh and exciting series, which combines the best of classic adventures with the Star Wars universe. So if you are a fan of the saga, you can't miss it.
