Almost a year after its release, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 won the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards for ‘Favor ite Movie’.
To get the title, the blue blob had to beat Hocus Pocus 2, Jurassic World Dominion, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Monster High the Movie, Top Gun: Maverick, Black Adam and Avatar: The Way of the Water.
This latest accolade follows news last May that t he film had grossed $331.64 million at the global box office — surpassing the $319.71 million record set by the original film in 2020. Sonic 2 also had the biggest opening for a film about a video game ever.
Sega Corporation and Paramount Pictures have already confirmed that a third Sonic movie is on the way – it was locked in for December 2024 last August. While nothing has been shared yet, one character has already been teased.
