It's been an incredible journey for the Sonic film franchise. What was once a major concern over the ramifications of Sonic's original cinematic design turned into a financial success for multiple films for SEGA and Paramount. The Sonic movie franchise has grossed a total of $1,000,000,000 globally, and that number is only increasing as Sonic Movie 3 continues to hit theaters.
However, writers always think ahead to the future. Sonic Movie 4 is already confirmed and they are always coming up with ideas to include in the movies. For example, Sonic writers Patrick Casey and Josh Miller were recently interviewed by Collider. In it, they revealed that “we definitely know that there are other worlds and these more fantastical zones, and we would like to see that, so we assume that the audience would also like to see that.”
