Update []:
The Sonic X Transformers collaboration has been officially announced. It's a two-in-one package and will be available in the US for $49.99with pre-orders to be available at Target December 10, 2024 and release in in 2025 (via Sonic Stadium).
Original story:
Blue blur Sonic the Hedgehog has teamed up with every possible famous brand over the years, and one of the next collaborations on the way is one with robots in disguise, better known as Transformers.
The official Transformers Instagram has already released a short video of its logo transforming into a golden ring with a sound effect (Sonic trademark). Notably, there's also a Green Hill-esque backdrop.
If this wasn't convincing enough, it seems that some photos have been leaked online. Discussing Films is sharing what is apparently a “first look” at the new Hasbro toy line:
As you can see, there are Sonic and Tails Transformer. Sonic becomes Speed Star, and there's Tails' Tornado. Sonic Stadium has shared some additional details about each of the transformations and abilities:
“Provided they are current and accurate, the Speed Star Sonic includes an extra-large ring shield, while the Tornado turns its auxiliary thruster into a blaster. The latter offers a surprising amount of detail and accuracy for a classic biplane, its thin wings turning into shoulder pads in in the form of a robot.”
This Sonic X Transformers collaboration will apparently be official soon, so stay tuned for updates.
