Koji Kondo, the renowned music composer for Nintendo and Super Mario games, has briefly shared his thoughts on advice for young game composers. He highlights the importance of enjoying the creative process and encourages aspiring songwriters to listen to a variety of music to enrich their perspective.
These have been his words: “I don’t think I’m in a position to be able to give advice to younger composers. That said, I think it would be to have fun, clear. Listen to all kinds of different music and then play that music. I think that’s really important: listening to different types of music. Play that music.”
It is fascinating to get a quick overview of the perspective Koji Kondo on composing music for video games.
