The Sonic the Hedgehog live-action movies have broken all kinds of box office records so far, and it looks like Paramount may have another big hit with the upcoming “six-episode streaming event” Knuckles , which is set to release on April 26, 2024.
According to Collider, the trailer for the new series (voiced by Idris Elba) has already “broken viewership records” for Paramount Plus across all platforms, trending on both social media and YouTube. Exact figures are not given.
This new series is about Knuckles getting to grips with life in the suburbs after saving the day alongside Sonic and Tails in the second movie Sonic the Hedgehog 2. It also features the return of several other familiar faces including Wade (Adam Pally) and Maddie Wachowski (Tika Sumpter).
Jeff Fowler, who helmed the films as director, also returned for the first ep isode of Knuckles to ensure a good start. He is also busy with an upcoming film Sonic the Hedgehog 3
