Following the first real look at DLC fighter Homelander earlier this week, NetherRealm has now released a new update for Mortal Kombat 1 .
Since its launch on Switch last September, the title has already received a number of improvements, and in this latest update there are even more Switch-specific fixes. Along with this we have the addition of the new Kameo Fighter Mavado.

Mortal Kombat 1 Update – May 7, 2024
Nintendo Switch
- Fixed announcer voice breaking after selecting Arena in practice mode
- Fixed an issue where Kung Lao’s hat was missing during the opening cinematic
- Fixed Kenshi’s ‘Festival Disguise’ mask to properly change to the equipped palette
General repairs and adjustments
- Move listing fixes and localization fixes
- Added Mavado Cameo to the list
- Adjusted head physics during Classic Brutality
- Fixed a rare issue that could cause a crash when using the Copilot feature on Xbox
On the line
- Fixed an issue where Xbox players could see a blank popup when receiving an invitation from Krossplay Private King of the Hill
- Fixed a rare crash that could occur while using the Social Menu
Invasions
- Some encounters in Season of Huntress are no longer required to reach the Season Boss
- Dark Star Johnny Cage Energy Balls now do less damage
- Adjusted difficulty of Raiden Trial: IV Encounter
- Fixed a rare issue that allowed the player to go through the gate in Fengjian Village without using the Tea Kettle Key
- Fixed a rare issue that could cause some opponents to have incorrect names during ambush battles
- Fixed a rare issue in Tea House Mesa that could cause the camera to behave erratically
- Fixed an issue that could cause Geras Time Trial III to not end if taking damage
- Fixed “Inner Titan” talisman still giving infinite supermeter after the effect has expired
- Fixed a rare issue in some encounters that could cause the opponent to have an incorrect animation after winning the match

- Fixed an issue that could cause Ice Slide to crash into an opponent when canceling an attack near the edge of the Arena

- Fixed issue with “Charged by Nether” and “Seeking Power” skins using the same palette

- Shujinko (Cameo)
- Adjusted how Kopy Kat & Mimic are displayed in the move list
- Fixed move list issues that could occur after resetting the drill while transforming into the opponent’s Shang Tsung’s Cameo
- Adjusted when Shujinko can be pushed by the opponent during Mimic Triple Ground Skull
- Fixed lingering sound effects that could occur during Mimic Ermac’s Death Embrace
- Sonya (Cameo)
- Slightly increased the recharge delay of energy rings when used multiple times in the same combo
- Shujinko (Cameo)

While Mortal Kombat 1 didn’t get off to the best start on Switch, NetherRealm has since released multiple updates including visual improvements, performance and stability improvements.
