The Nintendo Today application was an integral part of Nintendo's marketing campaign for Nintendo Switch 2, which left traditional social media and instead transferred new and attractive content to the iOS and Android app. You will see that people are uploading videos and screenshots to various social media platforms, and Nintendo doesn't look happy because of this. Today, Nintendo set up an update by stopping this practice to happen. This was discovered by Redditor who had previously recorded videos and screenshots and preserved them to use outside the Nintendo Today application. This move seems to affect new phones, while some older phones can still get content posted in Nintendo Today.
