We have more news coming from Nintendo’s latest financial report. We are talking in this case about information about the employees and developers of Nintendo Switch.
Specifically, it concerns information about the percentage of female positions within the company. The annual report of the big N shows that, in Nintendo Japan, only 4.2% of managers are women, a figure that has not changed since 2021.
Despite the ‘Women and Allies’ initiative to promote women’s careers, it seems that this figure has not changed in the country. In addition, the report highlights the existence of a gender pay gap, which shows that women earn on average 72% of what men earn.
According to Nintendo, this is due to differences in the length of service. Japan has the widest gender pay gap in the G7. The report is based exclusively on the Japanese offices, since, globally, 23.5% of Nintendo managers are women, a slight decrease since 2021.
