The interesting thing is not that they were a couple, but that they seemed to be in an abusive relationship. Shahra claimed that she only wanted to be with Erazor again, despite all the evil it was causing. However, she herself knew that this was wrong, as she demonstrated when Sonic wished for her to do what he considered right.
It was a mature story that inspired a sequel and even started a series of short stories.
Tikal, protector of peace and the world of Sonic
Tikal is one of the purest sonic characters, and at the same time it is related to one of the greatest threats. We already see that this is a recurring theme in the series, which does not take away from the emotion of this guardian’s story.
Tikal was a member of the Knuckles Clanthe first echidnas that inhabited Mystic Ruins 4,000 years ago. She was the daughter of Chief Pachacamac, a loving father who became cold and warmongering after the death of his wife. Since then she has dedicated herself to invading neighboring countries and participating in tribal wars.
But unlike his father, Tikal was a pacifist and was completely opposed to their wars. She strayed so far from the warmongering culture of her town that she befriended some curious local creatures known as Chaoand the guardian of these, Chaos.
However, their peace was interrupted when Pachacamac tried to steal the Chaos Esmeralds and the Master Esmerald to use them in war, causing a destructive reaction from Chaos. Tikal stopped the tragedy by sealing Chaos into the Master Emerald along with his own spirit.
Although Tikal seemed weak, her desire to protect peace was so great that they turned her into an eternal spirit. She was later freed when Dr. Eggman wanted to take over the world through Chaos. However, after stopping him, she went to live in peace with Chaos once more.
This is how Tikal became one of Sonic’s most beloved characters, due to his conviction to protect not only the peace of the earth, but the goodness he found within Chaos.
Silver, the enigmatic time traveler
Silver the Hedgehog is one of the sonic characters that stands out not only for its design, but also for its history.
This character appeared out of nowhere in the Sonic the Hedgehog of 2006, introducing a plot with time travel. The concept did not convince many, but the story itself is one of the most attractive in the series.
Silver is a psychokinetic time traveler, from about 200 years in the future. He has a kind-hearted personality and a strong sense of justice, so he is perfectly the hero of his own story. In fact, he traveled to the past with the sole intention of saving the earth from a future in ruins, avoiding a calamity that was very close.
Things got complicated when we found out that Sonic could be “the seed of Iblis” (although it was all a Mefiles hoax). Because of this, Silver has a constant moral debate while trying to kill Sonic.
In general, Silver’s character is interesting because of time travel, since he appears as a guardian of prosperity whenever the future is threatened. Also, there is still a lot that is unknown about the character and his origin.
Blaze, the powerful banished guardian
This is one of the few sonic characters of which we know a lot, and it still does not seem enough to us.

The tragic origins of shadow the hedgehog quickly made him one of the sonic characters most popular after the protagonist.
Both his personality and his design were extremely on point, but also justified with his backstory. Shadow was created as the perfect life form in a dubious experiment.
During his childhood he was a close friend of María, the granddaughter of the Dr. Gerald Robotnik. However, after an invasion of the ship considering the project as a threat, everyone on the ship was killed; including Maria who died saving her life.
