1. How has it been the evolution of the company since its inception to becoming a reference in the distribution of current video games?
The evolution of our company has been amazing. We start practically from scratch and in these last 11 years we have grown up to become one of the most important companies in the sector. Many were crossing us crazy at the time, they said that the physical game was in decline, but we decided to move on and here are the results. Sometimes dreams come true. We now have great sagas that, thanks to our effort and dedication, we offer our clients in physical format, which is a fundamental part of our identity. We will continue to defend these values โโthat matter so much.
2. What are the biggest challenges you have faced? What is your spirit to face them successfully?
Getting to position Meridiem in the place where it is today has undoubtedly been the greatest challenge to date. However, thanks to teamwork, we have achieved the stability we were looking for so much, making the road, despite its potholes, it has been more bearable. Now, with our objectives, the challenge is to stay at the top.
Each launch is special to us. From the moment we know the news and keep the secret, to the preparation and the ad, we live every step with the same emotion as the first. Despite the years, that essence remains intact.
3. The Spanish market is increasingly full of unique works and with real potential. How do you know how to detect when a title needs your support to distribute? And if you can, what criteria do you consider when choosing which games distribute?
It seems that we are living a new golden age in video games in our territory, with increasingly impressive releases. We know it because certain titles stand out among the multitude of launches, transmitting a unique aura and fitting perfectly in the market. The criteria we usually follow is to select games that stand out for themselves, either by an artistic section, which has an unforgettable soundtrack or because our community requests them.
4. Is there any genre in the world of video games in particular that from meridiem you see as a key to the future of gaming?
From our point of view, I don't think so. As we always say: “There is everything for everyone.” There is a public for a great adventure, a shooter exciting or a good platform game. The market demands variety of genres and not focusing only on one.
5. A personal question for you as a company, but what have been the distribution opportunities that have marked you most?
We have had many milestones throughout our trajectory. It all started with Tropico 5, which occupied the first place, followed by great titles such as Pillars of Eternity and the unforgettable Randal's Monday. Those first steps were key to us, as was the launch of Syberia 3 after years of waiting or take Gear Club to Nintendo Switch, becoming the first racing game of the console.
Later, and not so long ago, we had the honor of bringing titles such as Ori, Cuphead, The Callisto Protocol or Stray, experiences that have marked us deeply … and those that will come! Because we still have a lot of history to write.
6. We know the importance of the players community when assessing the success of a game. What is there the meridiem strategy to maintain a close relationship with gamers?
In Meridiem, closeness is fundamental. We want the community to see us as part of their family, always willing to help in what they need. Our goal is to offer quick responses, provide exceptional attention and, of course, bring those games that have waited so much. We are here for all of you.
7. How do you handle the relationship with users on social networks and the feedback straight?
As mentioned in the previous question, the relationship with our community must be bidirectional. We are not a company that simply publishes content and disappears, we are present every day, at all hours, committed to the maximum. We love to interact with our community and, above all, listen to your wishes and needs to do everything possible to provide them with them.
8. The collecting of video games and special editions is booming, and you contribute a lot in that current area. How was the Spanish market response to limited physical editions offered by Meridiem? What has been your favorite?
The market has responded positively to our editions. For an accessible price, players can get a great game with a special box and additional content, something that, as players and consumers, we also value and look for. We do not have a favorite edition, each one is special for us for different reasons.
9. If you dare, you can leave us some clues about your future jobs What are the future plans in meridiem? Do we have to be attentive to important news?
Our future goes through being as we are, doing what we know best and delivering completely to continue promoting this sector. We must always be attentive, because great opportunities are coming. We are waiting for a promising year and, as we have said before, we still have a long way to go.
10. Finally, we would like you to leave a message to our readers, and those who enjoy the world of video games as more than a hobby, better as a work or an ex officio dream in the future.
For your readers, we invite you to follow us closely, since we are working with very hard and soon we will have games that will undoubtedly love. To those who dream of being part of the video game industry, do not let anyone tell them that it is impossible or that they are crazy. They told us the same almost 11 years ago, and here we continue, making our dream come true.
