Fans of platformers like Banjo-Kazooie and Spyro the Dragon are in for a treat later this month, as Super Rare Games and Bynine Studios bring a charming new N64-inspired platformer to Switch on February 29, 2024.

Cavern of Dreams takes the classic, lo-fi visuals of the N64 platform to deliver a new but familiar take on the genre where you play as Flynn, a cute dragon on a quest to save his unhatched friends (yes, that will sound pretty familiar to Spyro fans).

Featuring four unique areas all connected to a central world hub, Cavern of Dreams is packed with secrets and collectibles, with new power-ups to unlock as you progress through the game.

Despite the slightly familiar premise, we love the setting shown in the trailer, and it just oozes ’90s charm from start to finish. Definitely one to watch out for.

– COLLECT THEM ALL: Each world is full of goodies to find. Including 40 eggs placed in dangerous situations, mushrooms to feed your siblings after they hatch, collectible cards to complete the encyclopedia and more!

– ACQUIRE NEW ABILITIES: Collecting eggs allows the Sage to grant Fynn new body parts, giving him new abilities! Use your tail, wings and more to reach areas you couldn’t before and move super fast!

– A WORLD TO EXPLORE: Fynn embarks on a journey focused on exploration, puzzle solving and platforming. However, as he delves into the mysteries of the Cave of Dreams, he must tread carefully as unexpected dangers may await him along the way.

– MEET A WONDERFUL GROUP OF CHARACTERS: Each world is populated by strange characters who need your help. You can chat in a tree, help a mermaid or free a sentient soup dumpling!

– NOSTALGIC OST: Fully immerse yourself in the Cavern of Dreams through a nostalgic and mysterious soundtrack, with each world having multiple versions of its theme depending on where you are.
