The Pokemon company announced this afternoon that the Pokemon 2020 European International Championship has been canceled. The reason is the rapid expansion of Coronavirus which has seen many events canceled recently and possibly more in the future. The company said in a statement that they were using existing recommendations put forward by state health officials.
The safety and well-being of our community, both its competitors and its organizers, is our top priority. While we choose not to see the event postponed or canceled, due to the extreme caution and compliance with the existing recommendations used by public health officials, we have left the 2020 Pokémon Europe International Championship.
