As you know, Farfetch’d He finally received his evolution with Pokémon Sword and Shield. However, what you did not know so far is that this evolution was already planned 22 years ago.
This is how it was known thanks to the 1997 demo of Pokémon Gold and Silver, where we found numerous discarded Pokémon designs. One of them corresponds to Madaamu (Japanese name), the discarded evolution of Farfetch’d that would allow it to evolve at level 24.
It is curious to see how its design has changed until it reaches Sirfetch’d, the evolution finally introduced in Galar. Unlike Farfetch’d or Sirfetch’d, Madaamu seems to be inspired by a goose or a swan. In addition, we were able to know that this evolution would maintain the Normal and Flying types and that it would have 50% of being male or female.
Thanks to the recreation of RacieBeep, we can see how this discarded Pokémon would have looked if they had decided to put it in Pokémon Gold and Silver. If it had been so, Sirfetch’d would be a form of Galar today instead of a standard evolution.
