Biomutant was given a surprise release by THQ Nordic on the Nintendo Switch and while it has various compromises to run on Nintendo’s now outdated Switch hardware, it’s still good fun. In a recent interview, a representative from Japan’s THQ Nordic revealed that the Nintendo Switch version of Biomutant sold much better than they originally expected, which is great news. Here’s what was said:
“The game has also been mentioned in the sales charts at retailers. In light of this background, we asked a THQ Nordic Japan representative about the game’s sales and were told that they were very strong. The first shipments have already been made, and both the download version and the packaged version “are selling much better than expected, although I can’t give you specific numbers,” he said. However, the Nintendo Switch version is selling well, in a good way.”
“While it is possible that the initial estimate was low, the fact that it is selling much faster than expected must come as a surprise to the distributor. The delay in porting the game suggests that it was a difficult process, but it’s also a sign that new users are developing as a result of such a challenge.”
