Dotemu and Tribute Games announced today that last year’s brilliant beat ’em up Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge will be getting a whole new batch of all-tubular stuff in the upcoming ‘Dimension Shellshock’ DLC.
Due out later this year, the game’s first full DLC pack is going to be a big one. Chief among the additions is a brand new playable character, Usagi Yojimbo (traditionally called ‘Miyamoto Usagi’), a sword-wielding rabbit who fought alongside the Turtles in both the comics and the animated series.
The trailer above shows this fresh fighter jumping through portals in a nod to the DLC’s other big feature: a new game mode. We don’t have many details about this add-on yet, other than the fact that there will be a “new style of interdimensional battles” for the Turtles to fight.
On top of these big hits, ‘Dimension Shellshock’ will also add alternate color schemes for all playable characters (including some retro-inspired looks we glimpsed in the trailer) and a fresh dose of original music from soundtrack composer Tee Lopes.
We’ve attached some Dimension Shellshock screenshots below to give you a closer look at the upcoming action.
Dotemu and Tribute Games have also announced that a second free update is planned beyond this DLC that will add even more color options in the future.
This is a lot to get excited about, we know, and while we don’t want to bring everything back down to Earth with too big On a side note, it’s worth pointing out that we still don’t have a firm release date for this one outside of “later this year.” That being said, we understand there are more details to come, so hang in there folks…
