Nintendo It has a place in any world and this fact proves it. A couple of scientists from Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) in Europe, have created a Super Mario micrometer scale retro style. The architects of this feat have been Enrique Calucho y Marcos Rosado. They have used different techniques related to nanofabrication to draw it pixel by pixel and give the shape of our favorite plumber.
Once the work is finished, they have viewed the image through a powerful scanning electron microscope (SEM) to ensure the final result. As you can see, it is a micro Super Mario with impressive detail.
The picture of Super Mario It has been colored a posteriori and once all the elements have been to the taste of the authors, it has been submitted to the microscope photography contest, Art Meets Nano. Both scientists have managed to win first prize. A feat of which we are very proud.
