Vampire Survivors is the affordable video game that Poncle keeps delivering. Along with several paid updates, the developer also continuously gives us several free updates. And today, another one landed on all platforms.
Dubbed Darkasso, this “super secret” update includes an all-new stage, a new relic, five new arcana (called Darkana), new skins for several characters, and tons of bug fixes.
Through SteamPoncle detailed how to unlock some of the new content — which isn’t actually available right from the start. You must enter a password to get a stage and then beat that stage to unlock the arcana.
If you want a summary of everything added in this new update, here are all the details:
New Arcana cards
There are currently 5 unlocked Darkans in the game.
You can access Darkanas by pressing the new button on the usual Randomazzo screen. The only difference between Arcanas and Darkanas is their theme, functionally they are exactly the same.
Due to the increased amount of arcana cards, once you have 23 cards or more, each draft comes with a free reroll and will allow you to choose between 6 cards instead of 4.New special masks
This is a new game mechanic that allows characters to have special skins that change them not only visually, but also in terms of stats and weapons. There are currently 2 special skins and both are rewards for completing the current 2 base Adventures games once.
If you’ve already completed the 2 base Adventures games, just open the Adventure menu to get the unlocks.

She starts with a level 5 Empty Tome and gains the following bonuses: +40% projectile speed, +40% movement speed, -10% cooldown. Complete the “World of Light and Darkness” adventure once to unlock.
New special skin for Poe Ratcho: Retired Poe Ratcho
Starts with a level 5 Pummarol and gets the following bonuses: +30 MaxHealth, 5hp/s Recovery. Complete the adventure “A Garlic Paradise” once to unlock.New stage: Room 1665
Unlocked by casting the “forbidden box” spell in the Secrets menu.
A serious challenge phase that strips you of the power of most relics. Enemies get stronger as you do. You have to defeat around 100 enemies to clear the room and move on to the next one. Standard light sources are rare, but are also rewarded after clearing each room.Relic: Darkasso
Enables activation of Darkanas. Comes from Darkana VI – Moonlight Bolero.
It is unlocked by reaching the bottom of room 1665.Darkana: VI – Moonlight Bolero
Unlocked by default when getting Darkass.
Spawns an additional stage boss every minute. These bosses can carry special treasure chests, including Arcana treasure chests that will allow you to obtain additional arcana even if you’ve reached the standard cap. There are also Black Treasure chests, which have a chance to hold a new passive weapon that you aren’t already carrying.
Darkana: Me – Sapphire Mist
Unlocked by completing a run when Space Dude has a -85% cooldown bonus.
Each time any equipped weapon fires, it has a chance to reactivate based on luck. This effect is increased on certain weapons, which will activate 2-3 times instead of just once.Darkana: X – greetings from the future
Unlocked by running Weird Souls Purifier with Santa Ladonna.
Each time you level up, the amount of loot appears on the stage based on luck and level. Possible downloads include Golden Fingers, Gilded Shamrocks, Candyboxes and Arma Dios among others.Darkana: XII – Crystal Cry
Unlocked by starting Starry Sky with She-Moon Eet.
When the character’s health drops below 20%, Orologion is triggered. This ability recharges when full health is reached.
Defeating frozen enemies creates crystallized souls, which when picked up restore some health and give small bonuses to growth, maximum health and recovery.Darkana: XXI – Wandering the Jet Black
Unlocked by reaching 665 MaxHealth with Bat Robbert.
Losing health creates explosive projectiles. The amount of health recovered while running contributes to the damage dealt by explosions. Magnet also affects area and damage from explosions
