The new wrestling game AEW: Fight Forever has been out for just over a week now, and the technical experts at Digital Foundry have now released their own review of the game, detailing how it will perform on the Nintendo Switch.
This game runs on Unreal Engine 4 and above docked mode has a resolution of 720p. Regarding portable modewrestling fans can expect “about” 480 p.
While the visuals are already pretty basic on all platforms according to DF, the Switch version lacks shadows, motion blur, lighting is “much worse,” and the image is considered “extremely blurry” on large screens. Texture detail is also reduced to almost “zero” – making the experience incredibly blurry.
Having said that, it is considered to be in “better shape” than the WWE games on the Nintendo Switch and is still playable. DF also thinks portable mode looks decent enough.
Regarding indicative ratewhile other versions of the game run at 60 frames per second and above, the Switch version is limited to 30 frames per second. “It’s mostly very stable,” but has problems with image pacing. Another issue with Nintendo’s release is loading times, where the player is presented with black screens for about 5 seconds, interrupting the flow of the experience.
