Earrings in Zelda
In almost every game in the franchise, specifically every game since Ocarina of Time, Link has had earrings in his ears. This is unusual, as it is supposed to be reserved for the Sheikah.
However, in the official Ocarina of Time manga it is explained: Apparently Impa puts Link earrings in recognition for having passed the tests she puts him through to see if he is the hero Hyrule needs. That’s why, when Link is a child in that game, we can’t see his earrings. However, when he is an adult, we can see that his ears are pierced.
