Chained Echoes will be my game of choice for the coming weeks – I’ve only been here for a few hours, but it is really good. The action is fast-paced, and the combat has just enough twists to keep the otherwise old-fashioned turn-based combat system fresh. Honestly, nothing feels cozier and more festive to me than curling up with an SNES-style RPG.
And, even though I should be buying gifts for other people, I bought a Lil Gator game for myself so I’ll probably start on that this weekend. I think my love for crocodiles is well documented (Totodile, Krookodile, Skeledirge) and I need something more complete compared to some of the events in Chained Echoes.

With the news of Death Stranding 2 since The Game Awards, I booted up an old PS4 this week in an attempt to get to finally
In the world of Switch, who knows what the weekend will bring? I recently finished all my current playthroughs – just in time for the Switch eShop sale I might add – so maybe something new will be on the cards. Much to my shame, I’ve never actually played Hades and there’s a great discount going on right now so maybe it’s time to finally take it.

OOOOH my pre-Christmas gaming calendar is pretty full. I’m playing Metal Gear Solid V for the first time — it’s also my first Kojima game, so it’s an experience — and it turns out I’m really good at it, which is a nice feeling. I partner also plays Outdoor wilderness for the first time, which I’ve been waiting for YEARS, to the point where it’s actually a bit stressful!
On Switch, however, Pokémon Scarlet is finishing up, and I just bought Aku… which is lovely, but a bit broken so far, which is a shame. But I am confident that a few patches will help!

Since this weekend marks the 35th anniversary of the first Mega Man game, I’m going to fire up the Mega Man Legacy Collection on Switch and… play all but the first title. Look, we all know he’s the most inferior. Regardless, I’m looking forward to diving back into the series and who knows, maybe we’ll get some news from Capcom about the next direction for the franchise…
I will get up in another place Expert 3 on series X. I already tried the new update and although the visuals don’t look significantly unlike me (I play in performance mode), the changed camera angle is a big improvement, so I can’t wait to dig into it a bit more.

Still working on Front Mission 1st: Remake. It’s great that the same tactic used so many years ago on the Super Famicom still works on the Switch today, so whenever I’m short on cash to upgrade my wanzers into the ultimate metal menace, I just strap Gregorio into the crappiest parts available with two strong weapons to fight with and watch him breaks up opponents against whom he has odds of 2.50. This should be illegal! In this regard, France won the Virtua Striker 3 ver. 2002 Shiryu Living Room World Championship 2022 on Gamecube.
Game of the week is Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion. Sony’s PSP came late to my gaming journey, but I still managed to amass a nice collection of games. Unfortunately, I didn’t have much time for JRPGs so I only played a few hours of this original release. I plan to make up for it and who knows, this could be my gateway Final Fantasy VII Remake. PS: Sephiroth did nothing wrong.
As always, thank you for reading! Be sure to leave us a comment below with your gaming plans for the weekend!
