Not much news from me this holiday weekend – I’m keeping cozy with Animal Crossing: New Horizons, trying to get those bugs and fish very early in the new month. I’ve been quietly working on my new island for a few months now and the addiction has really returned. I’ve also reached the end of Xenoblade Chronicle 3: Future Redeemed, and I want to do absolutely everything in it before I lose myself to Hyrule next week. Who phenomenal (if you know, you know) part of the DLC.
Another short one from me, but I hope you all enjoy your long weekends!

The pressure is really high this weekend. I have just under a week to beat Hollow Knight before TOTK comes and consumes my every waking moment aaaand it’s not looking all that likely.
I’ve been playing almost non-stop all week and I’m having such a good time — regardless of the spikes and the spiders and the dying and the big scary guys and ii and… If I can at least hit a good stopping point before May 12th, then I’ll be happy.
Plus, I’d really like to squeeze in some time for Splatoon 3 so I can get involved in a Zelda-themed Splatfest. Surely just a few games here and there won’t hurt, right?

Hey guys, this is Craig from Pure Xbox!
I sold my OG Nintendo Switch this week. It was a gift from my fiancee when we lived in our first, tiny apartment. It was more money than we could afford at the time, so the switch was quite sentimental. The reason for this is that I upgraded to the TotK OLED model and will jump into Zelda: Breath of the Wild this weekend to get Link back into the swing of things before next Friday.
See you in Hyrule, folks!

It’s Splatfest weekend, so of course I’ll be enjoying a heaping bowl of delicious Splatoon 3 action (with cream). That’s not all though, as I really wanted to finally finish my time with Sonic Frontiers after being about four nanometers away from the end of the game. I have a habit of doing that, I really don’t know why.
And what weekend would be complete without a little tinkering? I have my teenage copy of The Sims 2 that I can’t wait to install on my Steam Deck. Will I succeed? I want buttons, but that’s half the fun.

This weekend will probably be defined by a lot of roguelikes and 3DS games for me. The new update for Cult of the Lamb has me playing it again and I have to say I’m very impressed with its current state. Not only has Massive Monster ironed out all of the technical difficulties surrounding launch, but the new content rounds out many of the harsher edges of the gameplay loop and makes the game even more addictive than before.
I’ll probably also spend some time cleaning out what I have left of Dicey Dungeons as well finally managed to defeat Lady Luck a few days ago and now there are only DLC episodes left to clear. I’ve also been playing with my 3DS more recently, so I think I’ll be spending some of this weekend enjoying every second of Poochy and Yoshi’s Woolly World.

After finishing the first Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp campaign, I will dive into the second one. I’m just trying to recover from the two hour trauma that was the last mission against Sturm, something that also happened on the Game Boy Advance, but at least we were able to save every day on it. It was an epic battle of resilience and pedestrian spam. Damn that Meteor Strike CO power, it should be banned from the game completely. I won’t really be playing much more as I’m clearing my schedule for next weekend…
Game of the week continues to be Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed! So much has happened in the past week, so many revelations, so many answers. I’m on my last leg and I’m sure I’ll miss him for months to come.
We hope you enjoyed reading! Take the following poll with the game that will take up most of your time this weekend, then let us know what else is on your list in the comments below.
