It’s been seven years since the last installment of the Xenomorph franchise came out. Alien: Covenant was certainly not the best installment in the series, and it’s no wonder Hollywood lost faith in the universe. However, it hasn’t been abandoned for good. Alien: Romulus, directed by Fede Álvarez, is set to be a fresh start for the franchise.
Cailee Spaeny, who you may remember from Priscilla and Civil War, plays the lead role in the film. Her character, Rain Carradine, along with the rest of the spaceship crew, will have to fight to the death against a mysterious predator.

When will Alien: Romulus be released on VOD?
It’s unclear when the latest installment in the Alien franchise will be released digitally. However, it typically takes a month and a half to two months for a 20th Century Studios film to be available on VOD after its theatrical release.
While we will have to wait for a confirmed premiere date, we expect Alien: Romulus to be available for purchase or rental in early to mid-October 2024.
When could Alien: Romulus be released on streaming services?
The new Alien film, produced by 20th Century Studio, will be available on Hulu in the US and on Disney+ in the UK. The release date will largely depend on the film’s performance at the global box office.
If the new Alien is a success, it could be available on Hulu and Disney a month after its digital release, much like Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. On the other hand, if Alien: Romulus flops, the wait time for a streaming release could be much shorter, as with The First Omen, which appeared on Hulu and Disney just two days after its VOD release.

Based on all of this, Alien: Romulus on Hulu and Disney will likely arrive any day now. end of October to beginning of November 2024.
