In May 2023, ASUS launched the ROG Allya console managed by Windows 11, 7-inch screen with 120 Hz refresh rate that allows us to enjoy any video game with incredible autonomy.
A few days ago, MSI presented the MSI labela console clearly inspired by the ASUS model with very similar functionalities (Windows 11, screen size and HZ) but, in the absence of in-depth analysis, it offers much less autonomy.
But they are not the only ones, even if they are the best known manufacturers. Ayaneo, an Asian manufacturer, launched the Next console last year and for this same year, it plans to launch a new model, the Next Lite. This new model which will not come to the market to replace the original Next, but is proposed as a different alternative for complete the console offer
Ayeneu Next Lite with SteamOS
While the original Next was powered by Windows 11, the Next Lite will use SteamOS as an operating system. As it is an open source operating system, it is completely free, saving the company the cost of licensing if it included Windows 11.
This new console would be the first to hit the market with SteamOS and this does not depend on Valve. In fact, neither Valve nor Ayneo have confirmed the existence of any type of collaboration. Regarding the hardware, which is actually the most important thing in this type of device, the company has not commented but it is very likely that inside it will contain the AMD Ryzen 5 5825U processor with card Vega graphic, the same as the Next model.
Regarding the rest of the components, being a Lite version focused on a more economical product, it is likely that the storage space as well as the RAM memory will be of lower performance or even lower capacity, although the latter is less likely.
That if you confirmed is that it will have a 7-inch screen with 800p resolution and a 47 Wh battery, the same specifications found in the Next model. Ayeneo’s idea with this new model is to lower the entry barrier, so that more users can enjoy this type of console, well, specifically this new model.
If we take into account the The next version is priced at $1,300this firm must work a lot to launch an offer similar to those that can currently be found on the market from ASUS and MSI so that the user considers the possibility of considering it as another option.
In two days its launch on the market is planned, a launch which, for the moment, will be limited to China and will be done through crowdfunding, so we will have to wait a few more months for this model to reach the first users who have bet for the portable console that this manufacturer offers us.
