Buying a video game, whether for PC or console, requires a significant financial investment, especially when it comes to a title triple Asince it usually does not go below 70 dollars. As the months go by, the price of these products usually drops a little, making it the perfect time to buy them.
Fortunately, not all games that come to market are paid, especially multiplayer titles that include purchases to change the player’s appearance and/or weapons, purchases that do not offer us any type of additional advantage in the game.
Additionally, we can also expand our PC game library by taking advantage of promotions and offers periodically offered by stores.
Where to download free games for PC
If you want to know which platforms you can usually find free games on, we invite you to continue reading.
Steam
If we talk about video games, we must first talk about the video game platform the oldest and most used in the world. We are talking about Steam, a store where most games are paid but which also includes a section where all the games available for free are located.
The Steam section where all the games available for free are located, the vast majority of which are Free to Play, is available here.
Epic Games
Epic Games has launched its own video game store in 2018 and did so with a promotion that it still maintains today: giving away one or two games every week. The games distributed each week are available through the Shop tab, in the Free Games section.
To use Epic Games it is not necessary to pay any type of subscription, so once we associate one of these promotions, the title will be part of our library forever and we will be able to play whenever we want.
itch.io
If you like indie games, you can’t miss visiting the itch.io website, a site where you can find a large number of indie gamesMany of them are available for free. The section where all the free games are listed can be accessed from here.
Here we will find not only games for PC, but there are also games available that work through a web browser, so there is no need to download them and even for Android and macOS.
Prime Gaming
If we are Amazon Prime, we have a large number of titles to download for free every month. While it is true that most are independent games or those that have been on the market for several decades (or even decades), we can also find more recent titles thanks to codes redeemable through GOG or the Epic Games Store.
If for some reason we stop paying for Prime, any games we have claimed and associated with our account will continue to be available through the Amazon account with which we paid for Prime.
EA, Battle.net, Ubisoft Connect
In addition to the major video game stores we mentioned above, we cannot fail to mention the launchers of certain developers such as EA, Activision and Ubisoft.
While it is true that some of these titles are available in other stores, such as Apex Legends from EA (available on Steam and Epic Games), some free game titles and promotions are only available through their launchers.
It never hurts to take a look at the game launchers of video game developers to see if there is a temporary promotion that offers a game or two. We can download launchers from EA, Battle.net (Activision) and Ubisoft for free.
