Sony keeps things simple with its smartphone lineup these days, with just a few handsets released each year.
Its most expensive 2022 phone was the Xperia 1 IV, a flagship handset in almost every sense of the word. The compact Xperia 5 IV and mid-range Xperia 10 IV were also launched in the same year, but it’s Sony’s flagship that takes center stage here.
Cameras are the priority again, with a new varifocal telephoto lens that offers 3.5 to 5.2x optical zoom. It comes with an improved selfie camera, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, a 4K OLED display and a 5,000mAh battery.
Price is still the big sticking point, but regular discounts mean you might be able to pick up a bargain. If you’re based in the US or UK, here’s everything you need to know.
