Have you had difficulty with YouTube on your iPhone, computer or smart television lately? Don't worry, it's almost not you or your Internet connection – it's Google's fault.
A number of YouTube users went to Reddit to report a degraded video streaming experience. The YouTube videos were inexplicably defeated with lower quality parameters, falling as low as 144p.
In such scenarios, the transition to higher streaming quality such as 1080p or (prohibited sky) 4K tends to cause excessive buffer memory, or that the application returns to lower quality.
As Android Authority notes, the problem seems to mainly affect iOS users, as well as those who look at office web browsers and those of the Smart TV YouTube application. Android users seem relatively unchanged.
Some suggested that these problems started to occur immediately after an update of the iOS YouTube application about a week ago.

Google Cops problem in YouTube
Fortunately, Google has now commented on this streaming problem with its popular video service.
On the Google Google YouTube assistance page, a member of the Google YouTube team listed “videos and short quality shorts” as a known problem.
Although it is listed here as an iOS problem, one of the following bubbles in diagnosis of symptoms mentions that office and intelligent televisions are also involved.
The Google representative then assures its users that the company “actively examines this problem” and promises to update the support wire when more is known. Stay listening for an application update (hopefully), in other words.
