While the developer has yet to release the minimum and recommended requirements for PC play, during a Sony investor report it said the requirements will be similar to other PlayStation game ports. Horizon Zero Dawn, which has been available on PC for a while now. This will help us get an idea of what PC we will need to play Uncharted games on PC, so let’s see what we can expect if you have a gaming PC that is around 4-5 years old.
Uncharted requirements for PC
With the premises we described a moment ago, if we want to play Uncharted in Full HD resolution (1080p) and at least 30 stable FPS, we will need a PC with an Intel Core i5-2500K / AMD processor FX-6300 accompanied by 8 GB of RAM memory and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 / AMD Radeon R9 290 graphics card.
Now, if you intend to play at 1080p and above FPS rates or higher resolutions, we’ll need an Intel Core i7-4770K / Ryzen 5 1500X with 16GB of RAM and a GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB / Radeon RX 580. As for gaming 4K resolutionwe’d say you’ll need similar hardware but with a superior graphics card, and we dare say an RTX 2060 or equivalent should suffice, at least to hit a steady 60 FPS.
Now what if you have a PC that is a few years old? Being a game released on consoles in 2016, it shouldn’t be too demanding, right?
What if you have a 4-5 year old PC
The bad side of video games that were originally designed and released on consoles and later come to PC is that they’ve been “ported”, and you know that usually means very poor optimization, that’s which is why one will generally need much more demanding hardware than consoles need to be able to decently move.
Let’s analyze component by component. In fact, even if you only have 8GB of RAM, we don’t think it creates a bottleneck when playing Uncharted, really, since the maps are procedural and not much information is loaded into memory ( it’s not like open world games where a huge map is loaded into memory in order to play).
As for the processor, we are talking about devices with 4 cores and 8 process threads at most, something that we already had 4 years ago and, therefore, we assume that a gaming PC from it 4 or more years ago can more than fill it. Suddenly, the doubt arises at the level of the graphics card… they tell us that it will take a GTX 1060 6 GB or similar to be able to play decently, and this graphics card was launched on the market precisely in 2016, so it is very likely that if your PC is 4-5 years old, you have this graphics card or even better.
Therefore, the clear conclusion that we can draw from looking at the game and hardware requirements that a gaming PC from 4-5 years ago should have, is that you will be able to play Uncharted without too many problems. .
