Seeing the design, there can be no doubt that we are probably talking about many ergonomic keyboards already on the market. However, the main difference of design is that between two pieces of the keyboard, in total, only 9 and two "keys" discreet pads. How can that be?
CharaChorder suggests writing about joysticks
The concept is really simple: a place to enter a key for each character we want to write, this "keyboard" includes several four vacuum positions each, in their own capacity to write one book or another. Similarly, it includes two types of control buttons for different buttons (WIN, ESC, CTRL, ALT …).
The idea behind this keyboard concept is that, unlike what is happening in the traditional QWERTY we use today, we will always have our fingerprints on the keyboard without moving it from place to place, which would allow us to significantly increase the speed of writing as we didn't have to move our hands. Alternatively, as they say on a standard keyboard we only write 2-4 fingers at a time, at a time with CharaChorder we can do it with 10 fingers each time
Writing about the speed of thinking, is it possible?
According to the company, the design of this device is based on older stenographs and design of DVORAK writing (they don't claim that it works much better than QWERTY), and during CES they showed their three-dimensional typing (call it that), surpassing the PPM (beats per minute) with only two pull-down errors.
Logically, the show was created by someone who is "trained" in using CharaChorder, because any user familiar with the traditional keyboard will take a long time, but not enough time to get used to this new arrangement and type. According to a quick graph they published, you can reach 300 PPM with CharaChorder, the highest figure to come at the speed of thought
Here you have to make a clause, because those are 300 PPM CharaChorder keyboard They are impressive, comparing the QWERTY keys they make is absurd (they say you have 40 PPM when anyone who normally exceeds 100 PPM). And to show the button: here you find the typing speed capture, taken at this time, that the server has a traditional QWitorY keyboard:
As you can see, 120 words per minute is 605 keytroke (7 is incorrect), and that I've never had a lesson typing anything similar (just practice) and there are people who write very fast. It's still far from the 300 PPM they promised with CharaChorder, but it's just that inexperienced users will have up to 40 PPMs with standard keyboards, or anyone with less secure information that writes to 80-100 without any problems.
The company has already put the product in pre-order for its website, priced at $ 199.99 and with limited delivery in December 2020.
