When announcing the adaptation of Conversations with friendsone of the main doubts that their fans would have (beyond the final release of the series) has been resolved: who were going to be the protagonists.
The narrator, Frances, will be played by Alison Oliver, a little-known actress. The role of her best friend Bobbi will be played by Sasha Lane, who has already appeared in other productions such as the series Utopia
The couple of friends of Frances, meanwhile, will be played by, surely, the best known of the cast. Jemima Kirke (Girls) will play Melissa, while her husband Nick will be played by Joe Alwyn (The favourite).
We also know that Irish director Lenny Abrahamson and screenwriter Alice Birch will be part of this project. On the other hand, we don’t know if Sally Rooney herself will help create the script, as happened with normal people.
Argument: What will conversations with friends do?
For now, we can only rely on the plot of the novel itself conversations between friends to anticipate what the series will be like. Series normal people it was very faithful to Sally’s novel and we think it will happen again.
Conversations with friends, the series, will feature young Frances, who lives with her best friend Bobbi while studying at Trinity College Dublin. Then the marriage formed by editor Melissa and actor Nick will come into play.
Everything gets complicated when Bobbi feels attracted to Melissa and Frances begins a relationship with Nick, with whom she will unwittingly fall in love. It is above all a story of friendship, love and the need to have both.
