Corsair Dark Core RGB Pro mouse features and Tech Specs
The Corsair Dark Core RGB Pro It is one of the best wireless rats we can find today. This mouse does not have a revolutionary design, but instead prefers something simpler, prepares ergonomics and brings us eight systematic buttons distributed by the mouse. The click buttons use an Omron switch that ensures up to 50 million clicks.
The interaction of this mouse is one of its fundamentals. On the other hand we can connect it to the PC through its use USB-C connection. The connection is also used to charge the mouse. We can also use this mouse wirelessly 2.4 GHz Slipstream Receiver which gives us a response time of less than 1 ms. Last but not least, we can also use communication Bluetooth 4.2 with LE.
The battery in the mouse is a lithium polymer. This battery is fully rechargeable and lasts up to 16 hours in standard light again up to 36 hours without illumination. The included USB cable is 1.8 meters long.
This mouse has a visual sensor Pixart PAW3392. This sensor can range from 100 DPI to 18,000 DPI, with a jump from 1 DPI to 1 DPI. In addition to being able to configure it using iCue, we also have 3 internal memory profiles. The Number of voting This mouse is 1000 Hz and 1 ms, although we can increase it to 2000 Hz and 0,5 ms, both on and off the wire.
It has RGB lights. In total, here are 9 independent areas that we can customize with their software.
Corsair Dark Core RGB Pro for Wireless Gaming Mouse External Testing
The Corsair Dark Core RGB Pro mouse comes with a cardboard box in the manufacturer's signature colors (e.g. yellow and black). At the top of this mouse we will find a picture of it where we can see its appearance, and its bright objects. On the side we can see the bright objects and buttons we will find on the left, while behind the box we will find the technical details and key features of it.
When we open the box, the first thing we will find is a plastic blister and a cardboard structure in charge of keeping the mouse effectively protected from paper and chewing during the entire transport. Along with the mouse, which we will see in detail, we will find the warranty documentation for the mouse, as well as a simple instruction manual that can let us learn how it works and how to get started.
This mouse comes with a USB cable that will allow us to connect it to a computer to use it as a mouse with more cable, or simply its battery. The mouse connection is USB-C, and the cable is rated for giving us maximum power and durability.
Slipstream's wireless receiver is very small, so it won't fit in even if it connects to a PC tower or laptop.
The mouse, as we have seen in the box, has a right-handed design.
Above the mouse we will find, on the other hand, two click buttons and the same wheel. We'll also find a button under the wheel and two on the right of the main click button, though we can customize their functionality, automatically serving to change the mouse profile and DPI. In the palm tree we find the Corsair logo, which will illuminate.
The right side of the mouse has no buttons, though as we will see later on. On the left side we will have a DPI display and two buttons that we can customize.
In the bottom half we will have, on the front, the USB-C cable connector, in the center of each sensor and back will receive a button that will allow us to turn the mouse (center), connect it via Bluetooth (right position) or connect using the Corsair protocol (left position).
The right side of the mouse hides a drawer designed to allow us to keep the Slipstream receiver inside. The cover is magnetized, so it can be easily removed.
In addition, it comes with an extra larger foot cover so we can put it in the most appropriate position nearby.
Corsair Dark Core RGB Pro setup and testing
We have many ways to use this mouse on our computer. On the other hand we can connect you by telephone, so that we do not have to worry about the battery. On the other hand we can choose to connect it wirelessly with the included Slipstream finder to forget about the cord and have high performance with all mouse functions. And third, we can connect it via Bluetooth, useful, for example, to use this mouse on other devices, such as the iPad or Steam link.
The mouse has internal memory so we can store 3 different profiles and be able to use them without relying on iCUE software. But if we want to access all functions and recommendation options, we have to use this software to manage all the configuration.
Prepare the mouse
Once you connect the mouse to the computer, Windows will be able to install it without any problems. From the first moment we've started using it, but if we want to exploit the full power of Corsair Dark Core RGB Pro we have to use iCUE.
When we open the program for the first time we can see our mouse in the mirror, with the same lighting we prepared and worked on.
In the left panel we will find all the configuration options the program offers us. The first of these parts is "Actions". In this section we will be able to configure everything related to the mouse buttons. For example, we can configure macros, create multimedia keys and even change map keys. Since it doesn't have a sniper button, for example, we can configure any mouse buttons to perform that task.
The next section is "lighting effects". From it we will be able to configure the 8 RGB lighting fixtures this mouse has. We can apply results to each synced, or provide a different result for each category.
The third stop is DPI. Each profile can have 3 DPI settings, plus Sniper mode. We can provide the color in the DPI indicator and the Sniper mode indicator color.
The "Performance" section will allow you to adjust some of the functionality of the mouse function, such as adjusting the angle, the task to improve the position of the mouse, or the speed of the pointer.
Finally, the "over-measuring" section allows us to adjust the mouse depending on the mat we use to operate as accurately as possible. Of course, to be able to perform this configuration we need to be connected by a cable.
In addition, in the ICUE Settings menu we can find other exciting options, such as the possibility to update the firmware, polling rate, light adjustment and exciting function that allow us to add a battery indicator to the Windows taskbar. regular battery battery control and troubleshooting.
Performance appraisal
Once the cut is ready, we will check it to see if it really fulfills the promise of Corsair. In this case, the first program we will use is the Enotus Mouse Test. With this software we can measure the frequency and frequency of the mouse to buy with those provided by the manufacturer.
Experiments were performed wirelessly, with a voting rate of 2000 Hz and mouse sensitivity set at 2000 DPI.
As we can see, the results returned by this program are more than welcome. Values fall within the parameters provided by the manufacturer. Of course, even though the Polling Rate is set at 2000 Hz, the program has shown us that it comes "only" at 1700 Hz.
The second of the programs we will use is the MouseTester. Thanks to this program we are able to measure the accuracy of the mouse based on the sensitivity (DPI) that we adjust. We performed these tests with minimum DPI, second with standard DPI classification (2000 DPI), and third with maximum DPI.
As we can see in 3 experiments, this mouse provides outstanding accuracy with all DPI settings. Just facing one of the wireless models on the market. Even if the voting rate is high.
Conclusion
It is clear that the wires are a thing of the past. And wireless technology here will stay. New Corsair Dark Core RGB Pro It is one of the best models we can find in the market. The mouse with the latest wireless technology, which we can use for both wireless and Slipstream (Corsair protocol 2.4 Ghz) and Bluetooth, has a high precision sensor and is fully usable with ICue software.
It really is not the right mouse. We have lost, for example, a limited dedication button (instead of marking one of the existing maps). We also found some problems, though they can be easily solved using a firmware update, which is still annoying today. For example, the inability to control the brightness of an RGB light, or problems connecting the mouse to the iPad and other Bluetooth-enabled devices. Small details that, in terms of value, should not be there.
In addition to these small details, we are facing one of the wireless mice on the market. The mouse, without a doubt, will be able to accompany us in our day to day, work and even our most playful moments. As long as the battery lasts.
For all these reasons, we have decided to donate Corsair Dark Core RGB Pro our prize platinum, to highlight, above all, its to work.
