Just over a week ago Call of Duty Warzone 2 game was released. The game is free, anyone can play it and it has different mechanics. One of the features of the game is that it is cross-play, come on, PC, PS5 and Xbox users compete against each other in the game. But are they in disadvantage users who play CoD Warzone 2 with a controller?
For those unfamiliar, Warzone 2 is a fairly fast-paced shooter. It has some pretty cool mechanics and elements that set it apart from other games, like putting bulletproof plates on vests that reduce damage. The game is hectic, especially in the online “story” mode, where you face not only NPCs, but also other users.
Playing a gamepad shooter is horrible
many type games FPS or shooter have raised the option of being cross playbut few have taken the plunge. The main reason (but not the only one) is that the command does not work the same way as the keyboard and mouse. Accuracy is less with a controller, generating a significant disadvantage for the user.
I’ve been playing shooting games for I don’t know how many years, I started playingl Counter Strike 1.6 and since then there are many games of this style that I have enjoyed. I’ve tried to play a console shooter, or something like that, with a controller and couldn’t.
It surely comes from having spent my whole life playing this type of game, to which I have not been able to adapt. But it is that the precision that I notice on the keyboard and the mouse,
I understand that on PS5 you have to play with a controller, which does not get along particularly well with a keyboard and a mouse. The Xbox Series X | Yes, they support keyboard and mouse without issue, but playing in the living room with these peripherals is not comfortable. But, what does someone play on PC with a controller? It seems totally unnecessary to me.
Is there a disadvantage between controller and keyboard + mouse?
You are right. As much as anyone insists, precision and agility are greatly reduced between keyboard and mouse. There will be those who say they don’t notice the difference or that it’s better to play with a controller, but I doubt that. The agility and greater precision of movement that a mouse offers will never be given by a controller.
I honestly believe that for console or PC users playing with a controller, there is a distinct downside. Accuracy of movement or aiming is noticeably compromised compared to keyboard and mouse. Even the quick weapon switch aspect that mouse scrolling gives you is non-existent on controllers.
Honestly, if I have to play an action game with a controller, I’d rather not play it. Obviously, I could miss a great game, but to suffer from playing with a controller, I prefer to find another game.
